Industrial Millwright (433A) - Ottawa

Equans Services Canada & US is looking for an Industrial Millwright (433A) to join our team in the Ottawa, National Capital area. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in a fast‑moving environment.

• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery, such as pumps, fans, and motors, according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set‑up, and repair of machinery.
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
• Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set‑up of machinery.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures to keep machinery running properly.
• Recommend equipment changes and modifications and evaluate new equipment.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of preventive maintenance programs, work methods, and procedures for efficient maintenance and repair activities in plants and networks.
• Perform building systems maintenance as part of this role.
• Maintain the work area and physical environment in a neat, clean, and orderly condition.
• Monitor subcontractor work to completion.
• Provide written reports as needed.
• Analyze equipment breakdowns and propose corrective solutions.
• Follow all safety and company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Pass all background checks and security screenings, and qualify for the required security clearance.
• Five (5) years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Valid 433A certification.
• Work with minimal supervision and be a self‑starter.
• Physically capable of carrying out all aspects of tasks involved.
• Troubleshooting and problem‑solving experience in a medium to large organization.
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of French language can be considered an asset.
• Willingness to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, enclosed spaces, and heights.
