Youturn Youth Support Services provides evidence-based interventions to youth 12‑24 with complex needs related to poverty, violence, mental health, and involvement in the justice system. Using a strength‑based, trauma‑informed approach, we collaborate with youth, families, caregivers and community partners to foster resilience and long‑term success by equipping youth with the tools to achieve stability, independence and meaningful community engagement.
Experience and interest in working with survivors of human trafficking is considered an asset.
Position Type:
Full‑time, contract for one year with possibility of renewal.

Salary Range: $50,000‑61,000 per year.
Primary Responsibilities- Assess client and family needs through interviews, collection of information, and administering psychometric instruments.
- Establish achievable, time‑specific goals with the client and families, and identify intermediate targets for change.
- Conceptualise and develop an appropriate Initial Assessment and Intervention Plan, provide monthly updates and Termination Plan within the identified time lines.
- Provide direct counselling on an individual, family or group basis using agency-sanctioned best practice and evidence‑based interventions.
- Use the Socio‑Ecological Model, Feedback‑Informed Treatment and Collaborative Problem Solving perspectives in developing and implementing intervention plans.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of available community services within the youth and adult systems, and coordinate appropriate referrals to community resources as required.
- Use intervention strategies consistent with program design, providing direct individual or family counselling in the areas of healthy relationships, employment, housing, life skills, education, financial literacy, mental health, anger management and peer relations.
- Serve as client advocate as required.
- Participate in community networking, knowledge exchange and inter‑agency collaboration.
- Maintain flexible working hours and provide on‑call services as required.
- Collect data and participate in program evaluation.
- A diploma in child and youth care or a bachelor’s degree in social work, counselling or a related field.
- Registration as a psychotherapist or equivalent college registration; affiliation with an accepted licensing body or evidence of work toward registration.
- Minimum three years of experience (preference for) working with high‑risk youth in conflict with the law or involved in street‑level violence, human trafficking or child welfare.
- Knowledge of the Socio‑Ecological Model, Collaborative Problem Solving and Feedback‑Informed Treatment; an asset.
- Criminal reference check, including vulnerable sector, is required.
- Access to a vehicle for work and a valid driver’s licence.
- Fluency in both written and spoken French and English is preferred.
