Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Social Support Worker provides essential front-line support to individuals in need. Collaborate with a compassionate team to organize activities, assist participants in meeting basic needs, and ensure the ongoing evaluation of programs tailored to community demands. This role requires physical engagement and may include outreach efforts for vulnerable populations in Ottawa.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment at the Centre
• Plan and supervise recreational activities
• Engage participants in program-related tasks
• Provide advocacy and assistance per policies
• Mentor volunteers and students
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in social sciences or social work
• Experience with high-risk populations
• Knowledge of community resources in Ottawa
• Crisis intervention and first aid training
• Bilingualism in English/French preferred
