AboutThe Role
Cole Funeral Services in Ottawa is looking for a compassionate, driven Funeral Director to join our team. This is meaningful work guiding families through one of life’s most difficult moments and helping them create personalized, lasting tributes. WhatYou’ll Do
- Meet with client families to arrange and plan funeral or cremation services
- Walk families through service and memorialization options with care and clarity
- Prepare obituaries, proof of death certificates, and related documentation
- Schedule visitations and services, liaise with places of worship, clergy, and other partners
- Conduct services and lead processions
- Prepare the deceased, including dressing, embalming, and casketing
- Support the team with other duties as needed
- Work a 3‑week rotational schedule, including every third weekend and on‑call coverage
- Ontario Class 1 or Class 2 Funeral Director’s license in good standing
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine team mindset
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Ability to multitask, adapt, and think critically under pressure
- Client‑focused approach in everything you do
- Proficiency with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs
- Bilingualism (English/French)
