Job Summary
The psychologist is responsible for maximizing employee performance and wellbeing through the provision of support to operational training and advice to management in the areas of occupational psychology, personnel selection, psychological fitness for high‑risk roles, and suitability.
Responsibilities- Conduct occupationally mandated psychological health evaluations, including periodic psychological screening, of employees in high‑risk jobs/roles.
- Conduct competency‑based psychological evaluations of candidates for specialized jobs/roles.
- Participate in the development of psychological evaluation guidelines and procedures.
- Refer employees to appropriate support resources (e.g., EAP) or provide therapy sessions to employees in urgent/crisis situations as necessary.
- Provide advice to management and other health care professionals (e.g., occupational health nurses and physicians) as required.
- Develop and/or deliver mental health‑related presentations to employees in high‑risk and/or specialized jobs/roles.
- Provide psychological oversight during high‑risk training and actively enhance the Wellness Program, making recommendations to applicable policies and procedures.
- Prepare research reports for organizational sectors on topics such as development and use of assessment tools, mental health in the workplace, organizational psychology, and wellness.
- Conduct a review of all available information provided by HR regarding external candidates for employment, interpret personality inventory results, and conduct an individual semi‑structured psychological interview.
- Determine the level of risk associated with the likelihood of counterproductive work behaviours by weighing identified psychological suitability concerns against mitigating factors.
- Produce reports aligned with the expectations of the organization.
Master’s or doctoral degree with specialization in clinical, counselling, or forensic psychology.
Candidate must also be registered for autonomous practice with one of the Canadian provincial or territorial Colleges of Psychologists.
Experience- Significant and recent experience in conducting psychological assessments with adults for clinical (diagnostic) purposes.

Candidates may be required to travel across Canada occasionally.
The role is a full‑time indeterminate position; part‑time (2‑3 days per week) candidates are also encouraged to apply.
Most roles require an in‑office presence, though flexible work arrangements may be available depending on specific requirements.
Security ClearanceCandidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance, which involves a security interview, polygraph, and background investigation including credit and financial verifications. Use of illegal drugs is a criminal offence and will be considered in the reliability and suitability assessment. Candidates must refrain from illegal drug use from the time of application.
