Position: Career Counselor for Inuit Adults
Empower Inuit individuals in Ottawa as a Career Counselor at Inuuqatigiit Centre. This role focuses on education-to-employment support and personalized career planning for adults aged 18 and over.

Inuuqatigiit Centre seeks a dedicated Career Counselor/Caseworker, responsible for guiding Inuit adults towards fulfilling their educational and employment journeys. You will provide tailored career planning and assist with job searches while collaborating with community organizations and educational institutions to ensure culturally relevant support. Your expertise will foster holistic transitions into the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage intake and develop individualized career action plans

• Provide ongoing case management and support

• Deliver career counseling services for participants aged 18+

• Assess educational backgrounds to guide pathways

• Assist with resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation

Requirements:

• Minimum two years’ experience in career development

• Experience working with Inuit or Aboriginal communities

• Post-secondary education in a related field preferred

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

• Criminal Reference Check for Vulnerable Sector required
