The Student Support Officer position at Algonquin College offers 14 hours per week for dedicated individuals passionate about assisting students with disabilities. In this role, you’ll conduct assessments, coordinate with third-party services, and ensure compliance with the Ontario Human Rights Code. Key skills include clinical interviewing, data management, and knowledge of disability documentation to create personalized support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake sessions and clinical interviews with students
• Guide students in obtaining funding for assessments
• Develop individual assessment plans in consultation with students
• Assist with managing contracts for support personnel
• Deliver disability-education sessions to students and staff
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, or related field
• Five years’ experience working with persons with disabilities
• Skills in clinical interview techniques and documentation
• Experience with data management and statistical analysis
• Knowledge of AODA and related legislation
