Career Counsellor​/Caseworker - Inuit Focus

The Inuuqatigiit Centre is looking for a dedicated Career Counsellor/Caseworker in Ottawa, Ontario. Focus on empowering Inuit youth through personalized career guidance and educational support.

In this pivotal role, you will support Inuit youth aged 12-17 by offering individualized career plans and ongoing support in achieving their educational and employment goals. Your responsibilities include managing casework, delivering career counselling, and collaborating with various stakeholders to connect youth with meaningful opportunities. The position emphasizes a culturally responsive approach to service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop personalized career action plans for participants

• Conduct regular meetings to monitor progress and goals

• Facilitate career counselling sessions for youth

• Assist with job search strategies and application processes

• Provide guidance for education-to-employment transitions

Requirements:

• Two years’ experience in career development required

• Familiarity with Indigenous services and needs

• Strong organizational and leadership skills

• Effective communicator in English and possible Inuktitut

• Criminal Reference Check for the Vulnerable Sector required
