This role offers part-time shifts focused on safety, support, and skill-building.
In this role with John Howard Society of Ottawa, you will support youth at risk due to homelessness, violence, or trauma. Your responsibilities include fostering healthy peer relationships, assisting with mental health challenges, and providing safe transitions to adulthood. You will be key in creating a supportive atmosphere conducive to personal growth and community stability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate life skills development for residents
• Respond to and manage crisis situations
• Provide emotional and practical support for mental health
• Ensure a well-maintained living environment
• Collaborate with the team to enhance resident programs
Requirements:
• Relevant degree or diploma in Social Sciences
• Valid Criminal Record Check
• Understanding of anti-racist principles
• Strong communication and rapport-building skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays
