Belong Ottawa is seeking a full-time Senior Social Support Worker who reports to the Program Manager. You will play a vital role in leading a team dedicated to assisting marginalized populations. Key responsibilities include crisis intervention, guiding other Social Support Workers, and maintaining safety and dignity within our supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead crisis prevention and management efforts during shifts
• Organise and conduct engaging program activities
• Coach and mentor staff for excellent participant service
• Guide casework and advocate for participants’ needs
• Collaborate with community resources and other agencies
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field
• Minimum three years’ experience in social services
• Strong understanding of homelessness and mental health issues
• Knowledge of community resources in Ottawa
• Bilingualism is preferred for effective communication
