Community Family Worker

Join Britannia Woods Community Services as a Community Family Worker in Ottawa, focusing on supporting Black children and families through personalized interventions. This full-time position requires evening availability to address community needs.

As part of a dedicated team led by the Mental Health Manager, you will assess family hardships, advocate for clients, and implement holistic support strategies like the SNAP® program. The role involves effective collaboration with service providers to enhance family functioning and mental wellness, making community visits essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess strengths and needs of families

• Create and implement wellness support plans

• Manage cases and provide counseling

• Facilitate family and group counseling

• Work with schools and other providers

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or similar

• Bilingual (English and French) mandatory

• Experience with diverse communities

• Strong advocacy and collaboration skills

• Must have a reliable vehicle for community outreach
