Join the Violence Against Women team as a Bilingual Transitional Housing Support Worker. This role focuses on aiding women in securing housing and resources while providing vital crisis intervention.
This permanent part-time role at 28 hours weekly emphasizes supporting women fleeing domestic violence. You'll work closely with clients to establish safety plans and navigate social services. Advocacy and community engagement are essential to ensuring clients receive comprehensive support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct crisis intervention services
• Assist women in creating and implementing action plans
• Navigate housing applications and resources for clients
• Promote community resources and advocate on client’s behalf
• Keep accurate and up-to-date client documentation
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years in the VAW sector
• Demonstrable crisis intervention skills
• Fluent in both English and French
• Driver’s license and access to a vehicle required
