Become a Residential Support Worker at Minwaashin Lodge, helping Indigenous women, youth, and children. This permanent weekend role focuses on crisis intervention and creating a safe environment.
We're looking for a dedicated Residential Support Worker on a permanent, one-year contract basis. You will support culturally appropriate programming at Minwaashin Lodge and Oshki Kizis Lodge. This position requires physical strength, as you'll be climbing stairs and carrying loads while also managing the crisis line.
Key Responsibilities:
• Answer crisis line calls and provide intervention support
• Maintain a safe environment for women and children
• Assist in finding safe accommodations for residents
• Monitor house security and manage access
• Support communal living expectations and cultural needs
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma required
• Experience in a women’s shelter setting
• Knowledge of Indigenous healing practices
• Strong communication and empathy skills
• Current First Aid/CPR certification required
