Crisis Intervention Social Prescribing Counsellor

Exciting opportunity at the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre for a Social Prescribing Counsellor. This casual position involves flexible hours focusing on crisis intervention and client advocacy.

In this dynamic role, you will provide direct support services, implement brief interventions, and assist clients in connecting with critical resources. As you navigate rural settings and medical clinics, empower individuals and families through advocacy and collaboration with community partners to enhance health outcomes based on social determinants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish rapport with new clients for initial assessments

• Facilitate access to health and social services

• Conduct effective crisis intervention via phone and in-person

• Connect clients with community resources and opportunities

• Advocate for client needs in community forums

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field

• Minimum two years of crisis intervention experience

• Member of CRPO or equivalent

• Excellent public speaking and relationship-building skills

• Must have a valid driver’s license
