Crisis Intervention Counsellor at WOCRC

Become a Crisis Intervention Counsellor at the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre, specializing in social prescribing practices. This part-time position emphasizes holistic support and community collaboration.

Provided for three days a week, this role involves thorough client engagement and connecting individuals with essential health resources. You will offer brief interventions, coordinate referrals, and develop community programming. Flexibility for occasional evening and Saturday work may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish rapport with new clients for comprehensive assessments

• Ensure seamless referrals to health and social services

• Support clients in accessing basic needs like childcare

• Organize education and advocacy groups as required

• Conduct crisis interventions via phone and in-person

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or equivalent experience

• Two years of experience in crisis intervention

• Maintain active membership with CRPO or Social Workers College

• Preferably experienced with healthcare professionals

• Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license required
