Weekend Residential Support Worker Needed

Join our team as a Weekend Residential Support Worker at Minwaashin Lodge. This role emphasizes emotional support and crisis intervention for Indigenous women and children in need.

The position is for a one-year contract with Minwaashin Lodge, focused on providing culturally relevant support. You will work weekends, addressing crisis situations and ensuring the safety and comfort of all residents. The role involves physical demands, including carrying weight and navigating stairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support via the crisis intervention hotline

• Create a welcoming environment in the shelter

• Help women secure safe accommodations as needed

• Maintain the house security system

• Keep daily logs for effective communication

Requirements:

• Minimum post-secondary diploma

• Relevant experience in women’s shelter services

• Understanding of trauma effects and Indigenous issues

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must pass a criminal records check ahead of employment
