Crisis Counsellor

Position: Crisis Support Counsellor at Family Transition Place
Join Family Transition Place as a Shelter Relief Counsellor and help women and children facing abuse in Orangeville, Ontario. This role is available on an as-needed basis and includes evening and weekend shifts.

As a Shelter Relief Counsellor, you will provide vital crisis support and counselling both individually and in groups, alongside assisting clients in accessing essential community services. Your contributions will help create a safe environment for those in need, fostering confidence and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide crisis response and support through the crisis line

• Facilitate counselling sessions for individuals and groups

• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting

• Handle facility maintenance and security procedures

• Connect clients with necessary community resources

Requirements:

• Qualifications in Social Services

• Strong understanding of violence against women and children

• Excellent crisis management and counselling skills

• Competency in written and oral communication

• Valid driver's license and transport for work availability
