- Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years - Experience:
7 months to less than 1 year Work site environment - Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders) Work setting
- Group home
- Associations and non profit organizations Tasks
- Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services
- Implement life skills workshops
- Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs
- Sign language
- Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community
- Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses
- Implement behaviour management programs
- Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients
- Assist clients/guests with special needs
- Accompany clients to appointments and social outings Supervision
- 5-10 people Support for newcomers and refugees
- Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees Support for youths
- Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth Support for Indigenous people
- Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers Supports for visible minorities
- Offers mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees
