We are searching for an iOS Software Engineer to join the CNN Mobile Engineering Team. This individual contributor is self‑directed, able to work with minimal supervision and is expected to take on difficult technical challenges. The Engineer will contribute to the technical direction, supporting Principal Engineers/Architects and Senior Engineers in defining the technology strategy and implementation. The role requires versatility, eagerness to tackle new problems, and the ability to work in a fun, collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

The iOS Software Engineer will help shape mobile technology strategy, architecture, best practices, and the choice of tools and technology stack across Android app platforms, supporting mobile backend APIs, CI/CD tools, and testing automation. The Engineer ensures technical execution and release of CNN’s mobile apps to end consumers, partnering with Product, Design, and Delivery leaders to deliver product initiatives and operational execution.

Responsibilities
  • Build intuitive, simple and elegantly designed mobile apps that people want to use.
  • Provide support and development of software tools and procedures to extend and enhance the core production pipeline.
  • Work with multiple departments—including Product, Design, Delivery, Editorial and Engineering—to implement CNN Digital consumer experience solutions and apps.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production problems, root cause analysis, and debugging.
  • Develop and maintain existing production systems supporting CNN’s digital ecosystem.
  • Ensure software development follows industry best practices, policies and guidelines. Ensure technical solutions align with CNN Digital strategy, standards for architecture, security, corporate governance, coding standards, monitoring, logging, unit testing, and service enablement.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Demonstrated advanced understanding of troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, application design, solution development, human factors/usability design, and implementation of projects for major business units or the enterprise.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional development experience.
  • Strong foundation in programming fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
  • Ability to develop new and innovative applications as well as maintain existing code.
  • Demonstrated full‑mobile stack development experience with native mobile clients, SDKs, and APIs (Swift/Objective‑C, Swift

    UI, iOS platform).
  • Expert knowledge of software development methodologies, practices, and architecture, specifically experience architecting performant, scalable, and secure mobile apps.
  • Hands‑on experience with mobile Dev Ops CI/CD tools and implementing best practices, including automation of deployment, code signing tools and automated tests.
  • Preferred familiarity with Git and Bitrise.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with technical and non‑technical cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience building flexible software architecture to accommodate shifting business needs.
  • BS/MS in computer science (or equivalent).
Nice to Haves
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Amazon AWS.
  • General familiarity with database technologies (SQL/RDBMS, No

    DB, etc.).
Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation or range for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries vary based on factors such as external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and performance. Base pay is one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package. Pay Range: $ - $ salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards.
