Job Overview
Location: Ottawa, ON.
Duration: 8–16 months co‑op (start September 8, 2026).
Develop and maintain automated testing infrastructure for 5G software, focusing on Layer 1, test framework and feature testing. Tasks include developing test cases, coding efficient test facilities, integrating tools for vDU integration and testing, documentation, data visualization, and AI‑enhanced test development (e.g., generating boilerplate code with Gen AI, prompt engineering). Provide turnaround for investigation of issues uncovered during testing, maintain test environments, and support software development tools.
Skills& Experience
- Proficiency in HTTP/RESTful frameworks, database fundamentals (Hibernate & JPA), Kubernetes, Docker.
- Programming in Java, JavaScript, Type Script, Python, Perl, C/C++ and experience with Java Spring‑Boot.
- Experience with Linux, Git, Git Hub, Gerrit, Jenkins, Django, Angular.
- Knowledge of LTE/5G protocols, signal processing, and AI/ML concepts is beneficial.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as OpenAI, Tensor Flow, Codeium and prompt‑engineering techniques.
Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree. GPA 2.7 or higher. Must be actively enrolled full‑time at a four‑year institution. Availability to work 40 hours per week.
BenefitsCompetitive hourly wage based on academic level:
Bachelors: $25.50–$34.50/hr
Masters: $37/hr
PhD: $41/hr
