We are a group of generalist software engineers focused on C++ who work together to democratize the creation and extension of computations in the Maestro platform. We are a fast‑moving, collaborative team where each member is passionate about what they do and eager to learn and grow.
LocationHYBRID:
If in Ottawa, you must be in the office at least three days a week.
This is a full‑time, 8‑ or 12‑month position, starting September 2026.
Co‑op / Intern EligibilityThis position is open to co‑ops and interns who are currently enrolled in full‑time education or are recent/upcoming graduates within 12 months of the placement end date.
Compensation Range$24.15 – $35.42 hourly rate. The final offer within this range will reflect the candidate’s skills, year of education, and experience.
Job Responsibilities- Use a variety of modern technologies and work across the software development lifecycle from development through build and into testing and test automation.
- Develop high quality, well‑crafted code that delivers value to our customers.
- Test the work of other team members and develop automated tests.
- Collaborate with developers and testers on your team, and with other teams.
- Support a variety of special projects as needed.
- 3rd year student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent program.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for writing well‑crafted, maintainable, robust, unit‑test‑covered code.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, multi‑threading, and other core software concepts.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical ideas.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to our processes.
- Prior development experience with C++.
- Practical knowledge of C++ STL containers.
- Development experience with Java, C#, and/or Type Script.
- Experience with network programming.
- Understanding of cloud platforms and Kubernetes.
