Advance your education with hands-on software engineering at Lumentum in Ottawa. As an Embedded Software Engineer Co-op, you’ll develop C++ code for cutting-edge optical technologies.
This position is perfect for 3rd or 4th-year students enrolled in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar disciplines. You will engage with innovative projects, working directly with R&D teams on embedded software that thrives in high-performance conditions. This 8-month co-op term emphasizes growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop embedded software aligned with company specifications
• Design, implement, and support C++ features for optical products
• Troubleshoot and analyze complex software failures
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams effectively
• Share insights and develop skills in OO analysis and testing strategies
Requirements:
• Must be a current student in a recognized Canadian institution
• Strong background in C++ and embedded systems
• Experience with Linux, QNX, or TI DSP and BIOS is a plus
• Excellent communication and debugging skills
• Motivated towards learning and contributing to team success
