Build secure backend systems in Python and Rust for Aura Net from Ottawa or Toronto, supporting real-time data across disconnected environments.
As a Senior Software Engineer Backend, you will design distributed systems for Dominion Dynamics’ mesh networking platform. The work spans networking, security, containers, and autonomous platforms. You will own an Aura Net area or related project while priorities shift.
Key Responsibilities:- Design backend services for ingestion, processing, and real-time distribution
- Build networking for encrypted communication across intermittent links
- Apply authentication, PKI, and encrypted transport
- Deploy containerized services on edge hardware
- Integrate systems with autonomous platforms and simulations
- Senior or Staff-level distributed systems experience
- Strong Python or Rust backend engineering skills
- Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, UDP, and publish/subscribe
- Knowledge of encryption, PKI, authentication, and authorization
- Eligibility for Canadian security clearance
