Build scalable Java backend services remotely for Just Eat from Alberta, Manitoba, or Ontario. Apply strong system design expertise.
As a Senior Java Developer, you will support the Logistics Areas and Fees team. You will architect, develop, and operate distributed systems for delivery calculations. The work includes Java 21, REST APIs, message brokers, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and observability. You will collaborate with Product, QE, and Data colleagues while owning services throughout delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain Java 21 microservices and applications
- Design scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
- Maintain AWS infrastructure resources using Terraform
- Participate in architecture decisions, RFCs, and design reviews
- Mentor teammates and review peer code
- Seven or more years building scalable enterprise applications
- Strong RESTful services, testing, debugging, and design fundamentals
- Experience with Java, Spark, or Quarkus
- Experience with Kafka, Amazon SQS, or RabbitMQ
- Required experience with AI-assisted development tools
Bring senior Java, distributed systems, AWS, and AI-assisted engineering experience to Just Eat logistics services.
