Transdev Ontario is currently recruiting for a Fleet & Assets Manager for our Ottawa or Kingston locations.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director, Fleet & Assets, the Fleet & Assets Manager is responsible for a wide spectrum of responsibilities dealing with company vehicles & maintenance facilities and must be able to multitask with ease and proficiency. Transdev Ontario is a multi-modal operator with services in Student Transportation, Non-Emergency Medical Transport, Transit and Commercial Passenger Services and operates under the following brands in the Ottawa & Kingston regions:
Voyago and Priority Patient Transfer Services.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Procurement
  • Assess divisional vehicles for replacement
  • Negotiate parts/fluids/tools/services with vendors & manufacturers
  • Perform vendor visits/reviews
  • Optimize use of fleet assets throughout the lifecycle
  • Establish and maintain best practice service standards, policies and procedures
  • Maintenance of Company vehicles in accordance with established standards and policies
  • Reviews of all maintenance schedules on an annual basis
  • Obtain estimates, issue work order, purchase order or insurance work order
  • Coordinate all shop maintenance outsourcing and outside garage work
  • Coordinate vehicle repairs; liaise with insurance
  • Obtain vehicle/component warranties
  • Oversee Fleet Services' garage locations and physical facilities
  • Collect, analyze and present key performance indicators related to fleet services to management and operations
  • Responsible for Fleet Services' cost centre budgets and actual results
  • Accountable for a team of licensed mechanics and administrative support staff

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to, the following:

Knowledge & Skill Requirements
  • Completion of a University or College education or equivalent
  • 5-7 years' experience in a similar role
  • 310T or combined 310S/310T licence is preferred
  • Experience working in a management capacity
  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • Analytical skills for evaluating shop operation processes
  • Familiar with Health & Safety Act and National Safety Code
  • Knowledge of purchasing policies
  • Clean Criminal Record check
  • Valid minimum Ontario G class drivers licence with a Clean Drivers Abstract
  • ODP certification with A/C experience or willingness to obtain
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of light-duty diesel repair, as well as gasoline
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and sound organizational competencies
  • Leadership, problem-solving and team-building skills
