Driver G

DHL Express currently has an opening for a Driver G in Ottawa, ON.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:30am to 6:30pm
Wage: $23.33/hour, increasing as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Licence Required: Valid Class G Driver's Licence

• Drive a van to complete assigned deliveries and pick-ups
• Lift and carry parcels up to 70 lbs per piece throughout shift
• Demonstrated ability to work with customers
• Work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints
• Work effectively in a team environment
• Scan and process freight as per agreed procedures and Security Policies
• Move freight within the warehouse area as per requirements
• Accurately sort and process inbound material by deadlines
• Assist Tracing Department with warehouse checks for missorts and on-hands
• Perform accurate reporting
• Participate in organization and clean-up of the warehouse area
• Maintain a safe and cooperative work environment
• Meet security requirements
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift Supervisor

• High school diploma or equivalence
• Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions
• Good knowledge of MS Office; comfortable Excel user
• Valid Class G driver's licence
• Clean driving record
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent ability to multi-task
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
• Able to handle bulky, heavy, awkward shipments
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to interact with customers over phone and in person
• Minimum one year warehouse/customer service experience (asset)
• Understanding of First Choice Programs and Global SOP (asset)

All applicants are required to pass interviews, a criminal background check for all countries lived in for the past 5 years, and other background checks in order to qualify for the position.

High school diploma or equivalent; valid Class G driver's licence with clean driving record; good knowledge of MS Office including Excel; minimum one year warehouse or customer service experience (asset); ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
