Position Overview

This is an interview position. The primary responsibility of CTV is to transport freight to and from stations and hub facilities and/or pickup and delivery of large skidded freight and multiple piece skidded shipments safely and with a sense of urgency. Responsibilities also include the regular operation of power material handling equipment for proper loading, weight balancing and sequencing of unit loading devices.

• Transport freight to and from stations and hub facilities.
• Pickup and delivery of large skidded freight and multiple piece skidded shipments.
• Operate power material handling equipment for loading, weight balancing and sequencing of unit loading devices.
• Pass regular provincial transportation physicals and written tests.
• Comply with new FAST (U.S. customs regulations / criminal background check) regulations.
• Complete TORTES application as required.
• For drivers responsible for pickup and delivery must demonstrate proficiency in PUD processes and standard customs paperwork within the first 90 days.
• Drug and alcohol testing may be required for cross‑border drivers and company vehicle drivers.

• High school diploma.
• Twelve (12) months heavy vehicle driving experience preferred.
• Class AZ (Class
  1) driver’s license with a good driving record required.
• Air brake certification required.
• Class 1 in the Province of Quebec (includes air brake certification).
• Current certification in dangerous goods handling, operation of material handling equipment, ULD inspection for FAA airworthiness and t‑stacking.
• Must be certified by an accredited driver training institution of the company’s choosing.
• Professional driving ability.
• Broad (intra‑provincial) geographical knowledge.
• Knowledge of inter‑provincial regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret maps.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and contact information, especially during off‑peak hours.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Thorough understanding of ramp procedures.
• Knowledge of Tortes, Famis and other Windows‑based applications.
• Cosmos experience is an asset.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Organizational skills, especially on the road.
• Analytical ability.
• Effective communication with hub, station facility management and dispatch.
• Receptive and adaptable to change.
