1. Operate and maintain heavy equipment to support vital environmental cleanup and spill response operations.
GFL is accepting internal applications for the AZ Equipment Operator 1 role in Emergency Response. This unionized position requires proficiency in various heavy vehicles, including tankers and vacuum trucks. You will engage in activities like spill mitigation, incident response, and working closely with emergency services.
Your role contributes to protecting the environment during critical scenarios with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to environmental and industrial spills efficiently
• Operate various heavy equipment and vehicles
• Collaborate with emergency services and stakeholders
• Document and report work-related activities
• Participate in safety training and adherence to protocols
Requirements:
• Minimum 4000 hours with the employer
• Valid AZ License and competency evaluation passed
• High school diploma and truck driving certification
• Ability to lift over 75 lbs required
• Willingness to work weekends and on-call
