Purpose of the Position

Step into a leadership role overseeing critical Signals & Communications (S&C) operations that keep CPKC’s network safe, reliable, and efficient across Eastern Ontario. As the Manager, Signals & Communication Operations based in Smith Falls, ON you’ll lead skilled teams, optimize system performance, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic rail environment. Position

Accountabilities
  • Lead Signals and Communications field teams to deliver safe reliable operations
  • Plan prioritize and execute maintenance inspections and corrective work
  • Monitor system performance and resolve outages to minimize service disruption
  • Coordinate track access and work windows with Operations and Engineering
  • Ensure compliance with company standards safety rules and regulatory requirements
  • Manage contractors materials and budgets to meet cost and timeline targets
  • Drive continuous improvement root cause analysis and best practice adoption
  • Develop schedules coach talent and build a high performance safety culture
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years of railroad industry experience in Signals & Communications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and respond to after hours emergencies
  • Ability to meet all safety critical medical and drug testing requirements as applicable

Pre-Employment Requirements Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety-sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
