Dispatcher
Tomlinson is currently seeking a Dispatcher for their Industrial Waste Division. The Dispatcher provides a critical service to the Operations and the Maintenance Shop by assisting with daily scheduling and dispatching of manpower, coordinating appropriate equipment and supplies for specified jobs, ensuring all equipment and associated documentation is kept up to date with maintenance program requirements.

- Assess requests from Sales department in order to schedule appropriate equipment and personnel
- Schedule projects to maximize resource utilization while ensuring customer deadlines can be achieved
- Maintain a master calendar of upcoming projects with resource detail
- Coordinate daily project requirements with Foremen, Supervisors and Management
- Communicate daily assignments to workers including reporting times
- Regularly update Supervisor and Operations Manager of all activity progress, changing needs and schedule conflicts
- Keep Sales informed of any issues that arise that will impact completion on time or on budget
- Primary contact for drivers/ operators when assets break down – relay issues to Shop Manager
- Ongoing monitoring of driver hours of service
- Hire and coordinate 3rd party trucking and contractors when required
- Coordinate the procurement of supplies from internal Stores or outside vendors and rental houses
- Other duties as required
- Adept with use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong Organizational Skills with demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks
- Driven to ensure maximization of all resources through scheduling and monitoring
- Demonstrated problem solving, trouble shooting and negotiating skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers and co-workers
- Working understanding of Hours of Service
- Understanding of Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Regulation 347 Training
- Understanding of Certificate of Approvals
- Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision
The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000 annually. Placement within that range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
