Position OverviewThe Aircraft Fueler will work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for the safe and efficient fueling/defueling of aircraft while ensuring the well‑being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Including But Not Limited To)- Proactively foster a learning safety culture by modeling a safe work ethic and promoting the value of open reporting and shared safety responsibility. Follow all safety policies, standards, and procedures in order to achieve a safe and healthy work environment for all staff, customers, and visitors. Similarly support Inland’s environmental commitments by helping to limit our organization’s impact on the ecosystem.
- Ensure that Inland is compliant with all Government Labour, Health and Safety laws, regulations and policies.
- Abide by Inland’s procedural handbooks, operational plans, and directives of management to ensure that all work is done according to specifications and/or regulations.
- Uphold and follow the duties related to operating and maintaining fueling vehicles, tank farm and other associated equipment according to procedures for both airlines and Inland.
- Perform daily Vehicle walk‑around inspections, fuel testing inspections on vehicles and tank farm equipment utilizing appropriate checklists.
- Follow Equipment Fueling SOPs to ensure optimal readiness during your shift.
- Follow Aircraft Re‑fueling SOP and perform re‑fueling in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow Tank Farm SOPs when performing tests, recording data, accepting fuel deliveries and quality control.
- Ensure accurate accounting of ALL fuel transactions.
- Calculate fuel distribution for a variety of aircraft.
- Ensure the correct loading and balancing of fuel.
- Professionally communicate with airport authority, outside contractor(s) and other stakeholders professionally while representing yourself in the best image for the company.
- Operate equipment within close proximity to airfield personnel, aircraft and other airfield equipment safely and efficiently.
- Be alert and aware of other apron traffic, and to only begin refueling when it can be done safely without interfering with aircraft movement.
- Promptly and accurately complete all associated paperwork as required.
- Perform and record light maintenance tasks on Vehicles and Equipment and immediately report any repair requirements.
- Escort non‑security badge holding personnel in accordance with airport escorting procedures.
- Abide by Health and Safety principles by using issued and available safety equipment as required by SOPs in the day‑by‑day operations of the facility.
- Document and notify management of any irregular operations issues you observe while on shift.
- Assist in fuel farm and dispatching operations when required.
- Work cooperatively with all other staff involved in the completion of assigned duties and to maintain communications between other employees and shifts about current conditions of machines.
- Promote the best interest of the company by fostering goodwill and support between Inland/IDS and its customers ensuring that Inland’s policy of superior service and satisfaction are met.
- Understand and promote the Company’s mission statement, values and strategic goals.

- Drive and maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of all classroom and on‑the‑job training.
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Read, write, speak and communicate effectively.
- Interpret documents including safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical competence.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- General mechanical competence and ability to effectively use hand tools.
