Role Description The Professional Driver role at Giant Tiger is a full-time, on-site position based in Johnstown / Brockville, ON. In this role, the driver safely operates company trucks to transport goods between distribution centers and retail locations, following all traffic laws and company safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining accurate delivery documentation, and coordinating with dispatch and store teams to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.

Professional Drivers interact with store staff and occasionally customers, representing Giant Tiger’s commitment to reliability, safety, and excellent service. The role also involves maintaining a clean, well-kept vehicle, reporting mechanical issues promptly, and adhering to all regulatory and company policies.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong truck driving skills and experience operating commercial trucks safely and efficiently.
• Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A (or equivalent commercial driver’s license) and a clean driving record.
• Candidates should possess effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, store teams, and other drivers.
• Candidates should possess customer service skills to represent Giant Tiger positively during deliveries and interactions.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of transportation safety regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Candidates should possess the ability to work full-time on-site in Johnstown / Brockville, ON. including flexible hours, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Candidates should possess reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading merchandise.
• Previous experience as a professional driver in retail or distribution environments and familiarity with regional routes in Ontario are considered an asset.
