Temporary Transit Operator

Position: Temporary Full Time Transit Operator
Join the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo as a Temporary Full Time Transit Operator in Fort McMurray. You will ensure safe vehicle operations while assisting diverse passengers during varying traffic conditions.

The Public Works Department seeks skilled Transit Operators for short-term contracts ranging from one to two months. This role requires expertise in safely navigating routes, operating transit vehicles, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will engage with passengers from various backgrounds and must be able to manage fare collection and onboard incidents effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and document results

• Navigate fixed and dynamic routes using a mobile data terminal

• Greet passengers and assist with boarding and alighting

• Monitor fare collection and explain transit policies

• Respond to emergencies and communicate with dispatch

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Three years in a customer service role

• Two years of commercial driving experience

• Valid Class One or Two Operator's License

• Safe driving record required
