Drive students safely across communities east of Thunder Bay as a Travelling Spare School Bus Driver with SOUTHLAND. Travel flexibility and safety-minded service are essential.
SOUTHLAND seeks a part-time driver covering open school bus routes throughout its service area. The work includes Manitouwadge, Dorion, Geraldton, Longlac, and Nakina, with extended stays when required. Class B licensing is preferred, while eligible Class G holders can receive training.
Key Responsibilities:- Safely transport students to and from school
- Travel between communities to cover open routes
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
- Communicate route assignments and schedules with dispatch
- Valid Class B license preferred;
Class G training available - Satisfactory three-year driver’s abstract with safe record
- Willingness to travel east of Thunder Bay
- Ability to stay in communities for several weeks
- Completion of medical, record, vulnerable sector, and reference checks
