Safe bus operation and resident care are central to this Chartwell Driver position. Transport people comfortably while supporting accessible boarding and secure travel.
This Driver position serves Chartwell residents, staff, and volunteers during appointments, errands, recreational outings, and special events. You will communicate professionally, assist passengers on and off the bus, and respond to transportation needs. Vehicle upkeep, equipment handling, and routine checks remain essential duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Transport residents, staff, and volunteers to scheduled activities
- Secure passengers, including residents in wheelchairs
- Communicate courteously with residents and the public
- Perform routine and unscheduled vehicle maintenance
- Keep the bus clean, tidy, and efficient
- Secondary school education or equivalent
- Required license or willingness to obtain one
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, push, and pull
