To be eligible, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*

** and - have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
* The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
** International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market. Learn more.
Warehouse Person (CSJ)Workweek: Monday to Friday, with Saturday availability as required
Hours: 32 hours per week
Wage: $18.20 per hour
OverviewThe Warehouse Person supports the daily operations of the Lifecentre.
Care warehouse and food bank distribution services. This role provides hands‑on experience in logistics, inventory management, and community-based distribution.
Working as part of a small, collaborative team, the successful candidate will contribute to organizing donated goods, preparing shipments for community partners, and supporting volunteer teams. This position is designed to help youth build practical workplace skills while contributing to local food security and community support initiatives.
This position is funded through the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Strong communication skills (English required; French is an asset)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Comfortable using computers for basic data entry (Excel or web-based systems)
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Commitment to respectful, inclusive service
- Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks

- Flexible and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment
- Willingness to take initiative to keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe
- Comfortable performing physically active tasks (lifting, sorting, moving items)
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory environment
- Experience handling shipments, organizing inventory, or moving pallets
- Basic understanding of inventory tracking systems
- Receive, sort, and organize donated food and goods
- Maintain inventory records and assist with data entry and tracking
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and operating safely
- Prepare and organize outgoing shipments for partner organizations
- Assist with loading and unloading goods and coordinating deliveries
- Support merchandising and storage of incoming donations
- Assist with activity logs, reports, and basic administrative tasks
- Support and guide volunteers during warehouse shifts
- Respond to basic phone or email inquiries as needed
