OverviewUnder close supervision, carries out routine tasks in support of packaging functions. Working with clearly established procedures, prepares bulk products into smaller sellable quantities and prepackages products for shipment to internal or external customers.
Key Responsibilities- Reading and understanding packaging procedure documents
- Counting, sorting and bagging product from bulk cases
- Prepackaging products to make sets
- Reboxing and labeling new cases
- Keeping accurate counts of products packaged
- Maintaining orderly and accurate records
- Repackaging product purchased in bulk into smaller quantities for sale to customer
- Maintaining cleanliness of work area and surrounding areas (sweeping, emptying garbage, recycling cardboard, removing debris and restocking supplies)
- Accurately picking products for customer orders using Autostore, Vocollect and RF handhelds
- Replenishing Autostore and conventional pick locations
- Preparing picked orders for transfer to a shipping container
- Performing quality assurance on orders
- Consolidating and transferring orders to the appropriate areas
- Handling oversized order packing
- Packing and sealing outbound cartons
- Shipping and loading carrier trailers via the fluid loading process
- Maintaining cleanliness of work area and surrounding areas (sweeping, emptying garbage, recycling cardboard, removing debris and restocking supplies)
- Receive and label cases with LPNs
- Examine shipments for damage and process discrepancies
- Update product dimensions, weights and SKU barcodes
- Verify box counts, sort and deliver receipts to correct drop locations
- Anchor and build outbound pallets
- Prepare outbound pallets for transport
- Ability to operate various automated packaging equipment
- Good manual dexterity
- Maintain clean, orderly and secure work area
- May be required to operate and be certified on order picker, pump truck, scale or forklift
- Ability to interpret SOPs and use of tools
- May be required to identify and record data
- Ability to lift over 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
