IMEG is growing, and we invite you to join our team. We are currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer in our Ottawa IL office. As a Civil Project Engineer you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation. You will direct and train Civil Design Technicians and/or Civil Designers.
Responsibilities- Independently evaluate, plan, and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Assist Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis, reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation.
- Direct and train Civil Designers and Civil Design Technicians as required by projects’ contractual scope.
- Draft procedures and system requirements of clients; coordinate with municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines; complete permit applications for a variety of municipalities.
- Flexible pavement design and rigid pavement design; geometric pavement and site circulation design; preparation of specifications & cost estimates; traffic warrants and guardrail warrants.
- Contribute to project leadership on technical or managerial aspects of projects or portions of large projects.
- Ensure work assignments are aligned with project standards and are regularly reviewed by peers or supervisors.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written forms.
- Understanding of materials and methods and the ability to interpret state and local design criteria applicable to a project.
- Ability to consistently produce high quality construction documents.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer license.
- A minimum of 4 years of qualifying experience.

Salary Range $86,. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
