Job Duties- Engage with employees, supervisors, and management to create and promote a safe work environment;
- Prioritize engineering safety into our work processes;
- Create CAD models, assembly and manufacturing instructions, test plans, and inspection protocols that deliver quality products cost‑effectively;
- Actively engage with all WRT stakeholders to achieve product cost efficiency;
- Solve problems, identify gaps, and redesign as required;
- Implement mistake‑proofing concepts to prevent product defects;
- Analyze and design fixtures and processes, and recommend automation, including new equipment;
- Ensure vendors and subcontractors manufacture products according to specifications;
- Develop product specifications and establish testing procedures before utilizing vendors or subcontractors; and
- Provide input and support during the selection process of new vendors.
- Complete other tasks as assigned or required.
- Approximately 10% domestic travel to various unanticipated sites throughout the U.S. is required.
The position of Mechanical Engineer requires a Bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of progressively responsible, post‑baccalaureate experience in a related occupation.
Additional Requirements- Experience with system design and layout.
- Experience with tolerance control and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling.
- Experience with ERP, PowerPoint and Excel.
$90,000 to $115,000 per year
