Wage range
: $15.00 per hour start, more with experience.

Your Contributions Are
  • Assures resident meals are ready and properly served by preparing the cold cart according to daily count.
  • Distinguishes and serves the different dietary requirements of the meal and beverage according to the resident meal tickets, assures accuracy and appropriateness of meal including food texture, fluid consistency of beverage, appearance, portion control, taste and temperature. Able to make appropriate substitutions according to meal satisfaction standards.
  • Prepares “always available menu” as needed and ensures compliance.
  • Maintains the proper serving utensils to assure portion control.
  • Removes soiled patient trays. Assures sanitation of meal carts and food service areas.
  • Maintains the pantry area: performs first‑in, first‑out of stock items, accurately covers, labels and dates all food items, ensures all outdated items are discarded, accurately documents food temperatures, ensures the pantry is appropriately stocked.
  • Maintains the sanitation procedures and protocols by handwashing and food handling techniques. Cleans workstation and equipment after use. Follows all other aspects of proper sanitation using SDS.
  • Maintains courteous, considerate, cooperative, and accurate communication with facility personnel, patients, and families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, such as assisting kitchen staff or nursing staff to ensure meal service is timely and residents have received the proper meal and meal type.
Physical And Sensory Requirements

Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting, carrying trays and boxes up to 25‑lb. Push/pull food hot boxes up to 50‑lb. Bend, stoop for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visuals for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing to respond to verbal communications.
