Shift Lead – Walgreens

. This position opens the store in the absence of management, handles cash operations, and delivers outstanding customer service.

Base Pay Range

$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Store Operations
    • Open and close the store, including system start‑ups, cash handling, and readiness of floor and stock rooms.
    • Hold store keys and manage breaks appropriately.
    • Register all sales, voids and price corrections accurately.
    • Assist managerial staff with order exception reviews, reverse logistics, and display development.
    • Maintain accurate inventory counts and perform outdate program checks.
    • Manage basic department pricing and signage compliance.
    • Provide bookkeeping support – cash reports, ledgers, and bill payments.
    • Ensure store cleanliness and timely repair requests.
    • Coordinate food separation, rotation, and product placement as per policy.
    • Operate pharmacy out window as needed and comply with regulated product laws.
    • Perform bag checks of team members before store closing.
    • Adhere to all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
    • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • Customer Experience
    • Greet and assist customers with products and services.
    • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure satisfaction.
    • Model and share best customer service practices with team members, emphasizing Walgreens service traits.
  • Training & Personal Development
    • Attend required training and complete PPLs as requested by management.
  • Communications
    • Serve as liaison between management and non‑management staff, conveying tasks when management is absent.
    • Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Basic Qualifications
  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder experience.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records may be considered.
  • Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
