Operator, Dig Crew – Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline

The Dig Crew Operator is responsible for performing skilled duties required for the operation and maintenance of the pipeline system, including mechanical equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and maintenance/operation of various company properties such as buildings, machinery, rights of way, and pipelines. This position will be predominately travel with a crew 80% of the time and requires residence within a 40‑mile radius of the reporting location.

• Develop a detailed understanding of natural gas transmission pipeline industry operations.
• Perform pipeline anomaly digs, repairs, and maintenance activities with a high skill level.
• Assist with basic electrical tasks (as permitted under NFPA
  70E) such as routine maintenance and replacement of single‑phase electrical equipment.
• Utilize all applicable IT systems.
• Complete all criteria in the Qualifications section and the “Job Qualification Task List.”
• Create and maintain all required documentation related to assignments.
• Maintain proficiency in performing Operator Qualification tasks.
• Comply with all applicable regulations, company policies and procedures (OSHA, DOT, NFPA 70E, etc.).
• Participate in safety presentations, emergency procedures, and the company safety program.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Entry‑level experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products.
• Valid driver’s license and DOT Physical Card with X endorsement.
• Must reside within a 40‑mile radius of the reporting location.

• Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree or two‑year technical degree.
• Experience with a natural gas pipeline.
