JOB SUMMARY: This position will lead and direct all facets of supply‑chain management including, but not limited to, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, material forecasting, capacity planning and sourcing, master scheduling, inventory control, and financial costing as necessary for JIT materials support to production requirements. This role also provides leadership and direction on cross‑functional bases.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Competencies- Production and material planning activities in support of manufacturing operations of a $30M business unit that is growing.
- Strategic sourcing and supplier contracting; drive assessment of current supply base.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager with suppliers.
- Facilitate periodic business reviews with key suppliers.
- Ensure tactical purchasing function is effective and supports manufacturing production schedules.
- Champion effective use of MRP system in the planning and purchasing processes.
- Champion S&OP process.
- Expedite deliveries, resolve quality or compliance issues, and negotiate pricing when appropriate.
- Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and responsiveness — proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Manage and maintain the Approved Supplier List.
- Oversee the coordination of parts moving to and from external processing vendors (e.g., heat treat, drilling, and plating).
- Maintain accurate logs of parts at outside processors, including status, delivery dates, and any issues.
- Align planning and purchasing efforts with customer OTD, inventory management, working capital, and level-load factory operations.
- Develop make‑vs‑buy analysis to drive in‑source and outsource business decisions.
- Participate in business strategy development and assure alignment with department direction.
- Lead, coach, develop, and support a group of planners and buyers.
- Hire and train new employees as necessary.
- Collaborate with the BU GM to develop department KPIs that support and align with business unit objectives.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or equivalent. MBA is a bonus.
Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of planning, purchasing, or supply‑chain experience, including a portion of that in a management/leadership role.
Physical Demands: Employee is occasionally required to walk, talk, hear, stand, and sit. Color vision required.
Work Environment: Noise level normally low with occasional moderate to high.
