Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies
  • Implementing cost-effective equipment modification to help improve throughput.
  • Solves complex problems with manufacturing, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost and manpower reductions through assembly configuration and improvement.
  • Drive incorporation of technical advancements into manufacturing process and technology employed in the manufacturing of existing products.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluated products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software and Manufacturing software.

This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Ottawa, KS location.

Qualifications

Education and/or

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university in engineering discipline.
  • 6-10 plus years of experience in manufacturing engineering. Aerospace fasteners industry experience is a plus.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
