The Warehouse Worker ensures accurate labeling and efficient movement of freight within a dynamic distribution environment. This role focuses on maintaining label quality, managing freight flow using manual processes and powered equipment, and accurately recording and tracking freight through warehouse systems and documentation.

Maintain label quality through inspecting and verifying correct freight label information (e.g. vendor stock number, description on labels); comparing label to freight contents or reports (e.g., label control); and placing labels in appropriate area on freight.

Manage freight flow through moving freight manually, as well as through extendables and powered equipment (e.g. single and double pallet jack, lift, pacer); identifying, counting, separating, combining and scanning freight (utilizing Warehouse Management System terminal, scales and scanners); and maintaining records, logs and forms.

Processes distribution exception freight, including strays and damages, through verifying bills, manifest, and purchase orders; moving freight with powered equipment; and preparing, reviewing, and analyzing reports (for example, exceptions report, overage report)

This role is based in a warehouse environment where conditions vary by zone and may include cooler or warmer areas. The position involves frequent bending, walking, lifting, and standing for extended periods while handling freight and operating powered equipment. Multiple shift options are available, including Tuesday Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Saturday Monday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. You will work around active material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, lifts, and pacers, and use warehouse technology including Warehouse Management System terminals, scales, and scanners.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ottawa, KS.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
