Commercial Tire Service Technician

Our technicians mount, dismount, repair, inflate, and service tires of all sizes for our customers. The position offers in-shop and roadside services that may require after-hours service. This position is very labor-intensive and requires heavy lifting (up to 150#) regularly. You will also have opportunities to do other mechanical tasks, based on experience. No prior experience is required, but helpful. Candidates with lube tech, mechanic, or other automotive backgrounds will thrive.

• Reviews repair order requests and makes visual inspections of vehicles to determine the extent of tire service requirements and materials needed
• Performs tire replacement or minor maintenance services
• Opportunity for other mechanical tasks, based on your experience
• Test tire balances to ensure proper weight placement
• Reviews service with customer
• Complies with Company Quality Control Program, Company Safety Policy, OSHA and EPA regulations

• High school graduate, comparable vocational training or 6 months of tire technician experience
• Commercial vehicle skills and good general knowledge and or experience preferred.
• Driver's License Required
• Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with tire and lube requirements and specifications
  • Knowledge of Mitchell Repair and All-Data
  • Knowledge of tire requirements to include use of wheel balancers, tire specifications, Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems, and some drivability diagnostic experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot customer needs and inspect vehicles as needed
  • Ability to work non-standard hours

Compensation: $17.00 per hour
