Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. Collaborates with residents, families, and other inter-disciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards in their clinical setting.

Cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Responsible for care coordination, resident assessment, education, and various nursing interventions.

May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within their skills, resident care needs, and competence levels. Provides support to ensure safe, reliable resident care and addresses care and service concerns. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and state regulations. The nursing practice is guided by the American Nurses Association's Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Qualifications

Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, such as CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA. A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is preferred.

Currently hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practicing, and/or multistate licensure if in an NLC state. Maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
