American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active IA or compact RN license and 1-2 years of L&D experience.

• Hospital-based Ob Gyn Combined unit
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hour weekly guaranteed hours available
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Float to other units within the hospital as needed
• Patient ratios of 1:1 for active labor and 3:1 for couplet care
• Uses intermediate fetal monitoring equipment and Philips Tracevue
• Meditech EHR

• Active RN license (Iowa or compact) required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE
• 1-2 years of L&D experience required; candidates with 1 year plus travel experience will be considered
• Iowa SING background check required, including criminal and child abuse portions, with no exceptions
• All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide searches not accepted
• Mandatory reporter certification required (Child and Adult)
• 10-panel drug screening required, including opiates
• Titers required within the last 12 months for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB

• Provide direct patient care in a Labor & Delivery setting including active labor and couplet care patients
• Monday or Tuesday start dates accepted
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• First-time travelers with sufficient experience may be considered
