JOB DESCRIPTIONInsight Global is looking for a Director of Accounting. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives and leading a talented team of professionals. This is a key leadership position within the Magenta Service Center (MSC), reporting to the Senior Director, Record to Report (RTR) and Project to Retire (PTR).
Responsibilities
- Lead the RTR Accounting team responsible for the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, monthly close activities, and variance analysis.
- Ensure books are closed timely and accurately in compliance with accounting policies, GAAP, IFRS, and SOX requirements.
- Develop, modify, and maintain internal controls within accounting processes.
- Manage multiple teams that account for the financial results of the Company.
- Ensure monthly accounting close deadlines are met consistently, reflecting accurate financial results.
- Communicate financial results with key internal customer groups.
- Apply appropriate judgment in developing accounting estimates and accruals.
- Implement new or modified accounting policies and explain rationale and impact to internal customers.
- Partner with operational teams to understand business, system, or process changes affecting financial results or controls.
- Participate in cross‑functional initiatives to identify accounting requirements and financial impacts.
- Hire, coach, train, and lead a high‑caliber, diverse team of accounting professionals.
- Foster a workplace environment that supports high motivation, continuous improvement, and best practices.
- Develop department budget, staffing plans, and quarterly/annual objectives.
- 10+ years progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- 7+ years people‑management experience with a proven record of driving process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA or Chartered Accountant designation.
- Shared Service Center experience.
- Public accounting or public company experience.
- Successful partnership and negotiations with systems teams on system solutions and reporting enhancements.
- Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Blackline).
- Understanding of large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., Power
BI, SQL, Alteryx).
- Strong understanding of accounting theory, current accounting issues, accounting systems, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated ability to make fact‑based decisions and recommendations.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines for team deliverables.
- Adaptability and excellence in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Effective collaboration and communication with all levels of the organization and cross‑functional partners.
