We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and month end close process for several National and State Parks. You will work closely with the finance team and play a key role in maintaining the company's financial health.
Responsibilities:- Compile data and enter into journal entries for month close
- Perform bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Complete account reconciliations for month close
- Work with operations teams to identify cash discrepancies
- Prepare monthly reports for regulatory agencies
- Perform analysis of budget to actual and period over period balance sheet and income statement variances, as directed by management
- Prepare and file sales tax returns
- Other special projects as assigned by Sr. Accountant or Controller
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Must be self-motivated with the desire to perform at the highest professional and ethical standards
- Must respond well to a changing work environment
- Must have strong analytical and problem resolution skills with the ability to proactively recommend solutions
- Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent customer service and people skills
- Must be extremely organized with strong attention to details
- Be a positive team player with a “can-do” attitude
Experience:
Education:
BA/BS in Accounting or related field of study
Experience:
1 year accounting experience a plus but not required
